It began not as a business, but as a feeling, quiet, persistent and deeply personal.
House of Vanya™ was born along the still, glimmering backwaters of Ashtamudi in Kollam in 2026, where mornings begin with the sound of oars brushing water and life moves to an unhurried rhythm.
Alice, our founder, is a homemaker and a dentist by profession. Her days were once filled with caring for others, in her home and in her clinic, but somewhere in between, she held onto a love that never faded: sarees.
For her, sarees were never just garments. They were memory, identity and emotion woven into fabric. From the soft drape of Kerala cottons to the richness of handwoven silks, she saw stories in every fold, stories of women, of tradition and of time itself. What began as a small, personal collection slowly became something more: a way of holding onto heritage in a fast-changing world.
In the quiet of her home by Ashtamudi, surrounded by the calm of water and wind, that passion found its purpose. House of Vanya™ grew from this space, shaped by hand and guided by heart. Each piece chosen here reflects Alice's own journey: what she would wear on a slow festive morning, what she would gift with love, and what she would carefully preserve to pass on.
This is not just about sarees. It is about making a life out of something deeply loved, about turning passion into purpose, gently and honestly, just like the backwaters that inspired it.
Every saree you find here carries a piece of that story.
And perhaps, it will become a part of yours too.
