What we collect

Account: name, email, phone (verified via OTP), addresses, and saved measurements.
Orders: items, shipping address, payment confirmations from Razorpay or Stripe; card numbers are never stored on our servers.
Site usage: anonymised analytics for performance, conversion, and Mika interaction quality.

Retention

Orders & invoices: 7 years from order date, per Income Tax Act 1961 §44AD
Marketing consent & preferences: Until consent is withdrawn
Operational and security logs: Security events 90 days; audit logs 1 year; payment events 7 years

Cross-border transfers

To run the atelier we share specific data with vetted processors outside India. Each processor is contractually bound to use the data only for the stated purpose:

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

Data Principal Rights

You can export a full copy of your data or permanently delete your account at any time from /account/data-rights. For requests that require operator review, write to atelier@houseofvanya.com. We respond within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Our products are designed for adult customers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please write to atelier@houseofvanya.com and we will delete the data within 7 days.

AI-generated content and automated decisions

We use AI in the following contexts:

Mika style assistant (the chat widget). Mika's recommendations are advisory only and do not bind pricing, inventory, or order acceptance.
AI try-on (the /try-on flow). The photo you upload is processed to render a drape preview; the photo is not used to train any model and is deleted from our servers within 30 days.
Fraud detection on orders. Automated rules may flag a high-risk transaction for human review; this may delay order confirmation by up to 24 hours. You may request human review of any automated decision by writing to atelier@houseofvanya.com.

No automated decision-making in our store produces a legal effect concerning you under the DPDP Act 2023 or the Information Technology Act 2000.

International data transfers

We use service providers in India and abroad. Where personal data is transferred outside India, we rely on:

Adequacy decisions where applicable.
Contractual safeguards (data processing agreements) with all subprocessors.
For AI processing routed through Lovable AI Gateway / Anthropic / OpenAI / OpenRouter / Groq, chat content traverses the provider's API but is not used for model training (each provider publishes a no-train policy under our enterprise terms).
